Job Description JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL) Level 1 Development of core and/or application specific Electrical requirements for automotive electronics. Develop Electrical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP). Verify Electrical requirements at component and bench level testing. Support rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to Electrical hardware. Perform detailed work assignments provided by the mentor or team member, by applying established and well defined Electrical Engineering techniques. Work assignments primarily involve entry level or intermediate work. Electrical Engineer (Design) a. Requirements development and analysis, Electrical architecture development, component research and circuit design. b. In depth analysis, simulation, development of design documentation (ME/EE interface, HSIS, WCCA, DFMEA, Schematic) c. Optimization of design for cost, manufacturability, testability and quality. Electrical Engineer (Test) a. Responsible for creating Electrical test plan and Electrical test specification. b. Include requirements testing, circuit verification, bench and lab testing. c. Track the progress and communicate to the lead Electrical Engineer on the project. d. Perform Electrical test, create test reports and initiate defect records for each Electrical hardware release. Electrical Engineer (Project Lead) a. Main customer interface for all Electrical hardware related activities including customer design reviews, clarify and negotiate customer requirements for the project. b. Lead the planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting of all Electrical related activities for various projects. c. Complete Electrical design, test and functional safety activities as needed. Electrical Engineer (Functional Safety) a. Define, analyze and implement functional safety related Electrical hardware requirements. b. Support Functional Safety Assessment. c. Attend related Functional Safety meetings with the customer (OEM) d. Create Electrical hardware related portion of the Safety Case as final safety documentation for production launch. Electrical Engineer (EMC) a. Support development of EMC test plan and specification. b. Analyze and implement EMC related Electrical hardware requirements. c. Support EMC test set-up and test SW requirements and development. d. Support EMC ED testing in collaboration with EMC Engineer. Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. Ensures that facilities are in full compliance with all safety regulations. Maintains regular attendance. Follows safe work procedures; Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE); Uses workplace tools and equipment as instructed; Reports workplace hazards, injuries and illness as soon as possible following event. Complies with the requirements of Quality Operating System (QOS) JOB REQUIREMENTS Education/Experience Level 1 (Basic) Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering/ Power Electronics Engineering or equivalent (Masters preferred) 0-4 years relevant experience regarding the responsibility / activities (listed above) in serial development. Automotive electronic (mandatory). Comprehensive knowledge of analogue, digital, power, memory, integrated circuits and microcontroller hardware design and implementation techniques. Knowledge in Electrical circuit test and troubleshooting methods. Knowledge in Electrical product development process. Electrical Engineer (Design) Knowledge in Electrical hardware design for automotive applications following automotive standards. Electrical Engineer (Test) Knowledge of Electrical test standards and test equipment. Electrical Engineer (Project Lead) Mastery of the Electrical Development Process. Experience with customer interface for all Electrical related activities. Electrical Engineer (Functional Safety) Experience in developing and implementing safety critical Electrical hardware, fault tolerance design including familiarity with ASIL safety standards. Electrical Engineer (EMC) Experience with EMC design rules and international test standards. Working knowledge in structured Engineering approach. Working knowledge in development of reusable Electrical hardware in automotive environment. Troubleshooting and debugging skills. Knowledge of structured problem solving (8D) methods and/or techniques. Knowledge of Electrical design, simulation and testing techniques. Computer- Level 1 (Basic) knowledge of MS Office package Knowledge of Electrical Engineering tools - Electrical Circuit Simulators (PSpice, SiSoft,etc.) - Schematic/PCD Design Tool (Altium) - Electrical Test Equipment (Digital Scopes, Logic, Analyses, etc.)Language Comprehensive knowledge of English (verbal and written) For positions located in non-English speaking locations, knowledge of the local working language is an asset. Advanced knowledge (verbal &written) of local language required. Travel Travel (domestic and international) may be needed Abilities- Level 1 (Basic) Able to work effectively in a global environment Able to represent technical topics internally and externally Self-motivation, tenacity, and determination are very useful in this position Must be able to work independently with supervision.
